About Because They’re Funny

Because They’re Funny DC Comedy Festival (BTF) is a dynamic comedy event created by the producers of the American Black Film Festival to spotlight the brightest comedians of color from across the country. The 2025 BTF will take place October 10–12 in Washington, DC’s vibrant Wharf district. Now in its third year, the festival is dedicated to propelling a new generation of diverse stand-up comedians to stardom, while also promoting television and film content in the comedy genre that centers people of color. more
